Introduction

“I started this business in 1988, at the ripe old age of 21. At the start it was very much a 'one man show' that operated from a small wooden shed beside the beach at Brean in Somerset!

In those early years all we supplied were removable washable seat covers for caravan and boat owners, hence our name, The Caravan & Boat Seat Cover Centre! Early one spring morning a huge wave washed over the sea wall and knocked our premises off its foundations!

This prompted our move to Bristol. Since then the range of services we offer has grown considerably and we have gradually become very well known for supplying made-to-measure upholstery, foam, soft furnishings and bedding to static, touring, motor caravan and boat owners across the UK. We are very proud that a great deal of our work continues to come from recommendation.

This has enabled our business to grow over the years to a current staff of 23 people who now work, after two moves, in modern 10,000 sq.ft. factory premises on the outskirts of Bristol, well away from the sea!

What we do & How we operate

This website is designed to give you an overall insight into all the services we offer, with further details and advice given freely and gladly on request.

Who do we supply?

We are suppliers of upholstery, washable set covers, foam, curtains, other soft furnishings and bedding to owners of static, touring and motor caravans and all types of boats. We are very pleased to say that our customers are based all over the UK, literally from Cornwall to the Scottish Shetland Isles, as well as in France and Spain, and even a Mrs Mcleod in the Falkland Islands!

Factory & Showroom visitors

Many of our potential customers find it extremely beneficial to make the time to visit our factory and showroom in Bristol. This enables them to view large samples of all our upholstery and curtain fabrics, (over 1,000 in total!) and, if required, to try both sitting and lying on the various foam types we offer. Often customers will bring cushions and curtains and furnishings for us to measure or, if they have a motor caravan, will bring it with them when visiting. We can then measure your motor caravan for you. If you wish you can take our upholstery fabrics, foam and furnishings out to your ‘van to see how they look ‘in situ’. We gladly give visitors options and quotations without any obligation, all in a professional, no-pressure manner.

We purposely don’t offer a rushed ‘while you wait’ service as we believe very strongly in giving a job whatever time is necessary to complete it to an excellent standard. So for your convenience, whatever you may order, can be despatched to any address when completed. Mail/Telephone & E-mail Ordering

If you live too far away to visit us in person then we are still very glad and able to deal with you. We are very experienced in helping customers with answers to queries and giving quotations, all in a friendly, no pressure, professional manner. We are happy to talk to you via the telephone, e-mail, fax or, of course, by letter!

If you decide to place an order, then we are pleased to accept most debit/credit cards and, of course, cheques!

Nationwide Collection Service

If we need to borrow any items to carry out your order (e.g. for cushion refilling, upholstery or re-upholstery) then we will simply send you special packaging, collect the packaged furnishings from you by our carrier and then safely return your finished order to you by the same method, ready for you to enjoy.

We heavily subsidise the cost of our Collection Service to just £20, regardless of the number of items we are collecting. Some customers choose this collection option even when ordering items like removable covers or curtains, so we can do all the measuring for them!
